Mrs. Lilac and I do not think it would be fair to have Little Momma go through labor and delivery without a proper name. So, we are opening it up to all of you to help!

All suggestions are being considered and we want to hear from you all!

Bonus points for Gone With the Wind or literature-based names!

Here is a little inspiration.

While I am in favor-asking mode, click on the purple paw print on the right every single day and follow the link to click to feed a homeless animal in a shelter. All you have to do is click, its free and it helps!

  1. How about Pip or if you want to go Gone With The Wind sytle, Tara.

  2. She looks like a Patty to me!

  3. What about Ellie – a.k.a Ellen or Suellen O’Hara

  4. GWTW is my fav! I had a bird names Scarlett. I have a cat named Moaning Myrtle from harry Potter. HHMMM I do’t think she looks like a Ms. Havisham. haha How about Ophelia, Rosaline, or Emma.

  5. I’m going to have to go with Melly, because she would just love to be having all of those babies and would make a spectacular Little Momma!!

  6. What about Roxy? Or Bella? I don’t know. I’m not very good at naming animals, haha.

  7. Maggie.

Like from Margaret Mitchell, the author of the books.

OR Vivi. (The actress that plays Scarlett – Vivian.)

Or Pitty Pat the Kitty Cat!!! 🙂

  8. PittyPat. I know she’s in the GWTW book…is she in the movie? She is an orphan, so she could be Anne of Green Gables, too.

  9. I vote for shenanigans.

  10. Is it fair for me to vote? I’m kinda liking Scarlett, or my fave GWTW character, Ashley- or to jump on the Anne of Green Gables bandwagon, how about Marilla, since she was the one who rescued Anne from the orphanage? Also, Anne has a daughter in the later books named Marilla or “Rilla.”

  11. What about Lillith? 🙂 You really are a special person, you and Mrs Lilac. The world needs more people like you two. And I will click everyday. 🙂

  12. Louisa May Alcott!!! Then you can call her May or Lou or Cottie..hahahaa…

  13. she looks like a Harriet 🙂

  14. I’m reading Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood right now and like the name Vivi 🙂

  15. What about Belle for a Southern Belle? Isn’t that how it’s spelled?

  16. I think Scarlett O’Hara would be perfect. In sticking with my whole Elizabeth Taylor theme here are a few other cool names.

    1. Cleopatra
    2. Velvet
    3. Black Beauty (even though that is not a Liz Talyor movie, I still really like that name. And it’s still movie related)

  17. I like the name Belle too…I used to have a dog named Belle.

  18. i vote for TARA!!!

“tara! home. i’ll go home. and i’ll think of some way to get him [rhett] back. after all… tomorrow is another day.”

don’t you think it’s perfect to have your cat’s name synonymous with something that makes you think “home”? HA. i do. now i want a cat!

  19. Oh! I’ve just been catching up on my blog reading and I must say.. I’m SO touched by what the two of you are doing! My family, back when we lived in an apartment that couldn’t technically keep animals, would take in strays until we could find either a home for them or their owners. Whenever I hear stories like this it just makes my heart swell up that there are still such good people out there!
Any of the names up there are adorable. I, myself, not having seen any of these movies, don’t find it very fitting to vote! 🙂 (but I do like Vivi!)

  20. Keep them coming guys!

Love them all! I am considering all of them except a few like Ellie and Belle.

My dogs names are already Ellie and Lily Belle.

I am still in thinking mode and as of 3:00CST No kittens yet!

  21. I change my vote, I like Tara. Kristen’s is good. Its not too obvious and it means home. I like it! And it goes with Ellie and Lily. You need some male pets man.

  22. What about Lilly or Sammi!!

    Charlotte/Charlie is cute too..

  23. Sorry – your dog is Lilly…

  24. I have to disagree with everyone who said Bella. Everyone and their mom is naming their animals Bella. Not that there is anything wrong with that. :0)
    I’d go with:
    Scarlett
    Charlotte
    Maggie

  25. –Oh and by the way… HI!!

Sorry I didn’t say it sooner. I’ve actually been reading your blog for quite a while and it slipped my mind.

  26. Hmmm, I’m not really one to name animals “people” names … but, that’s just my own hangup. What about Piper? No reason why – it just sprang to mind.

  27. I love the idea of Cleopatra. The pregnant kitty we took in is a tuxedo cat, just like this one, and we almost named her Cleopatra because she looks like the Sphinx. Instead we named her Ivana, as in Ivana Humpalot because, duh, she’s pregnant and obviously a little bit of a tramp! 😉
